‘Daredevil’ Showrunner Excited To See Charlie Cox Officially Join The MCU

Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight is thrilled to see Charlie Cox officially join the MCU.

Despite being produced by Marvel, the Netflix shows always existed in a strange purgatory where they referenced the events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but never felt as if they were a part of it. Fans have debated for years if the Marvel Netflix shows are canon and while we may not have a definitive answer, one thing is for certain: Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is 100% in the MCU now.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shocked fans around the world when he revealed that Charlie Cox would be Daredevil in the MCU. Cox has been heavily rumored to appear as Daredevil in next week’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which makes Feige’s comments quite intriguing. While fans rejoiced at Cox joining the canon, no one was more excited than Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight.

Taking to Twitter to answer fan queries, Steven S. DeKnight discussed his excitement regarding the news and revealed that he would be interested in returning to the franchise if given the opportunity.

1000% all for it. https://t.co/tfw8sfHryt

While Charlie Cox as Daredevil might be canon to the MCU, it doesn’t mean that the show and the various other Netflix projects are. A fan wondered if all the other Netflix characters would be brought into the MCU, or if Daredevil would be re-introduced solo, with all mention of his past tucked away. The showrunner revealed that he has no idea what Marvel has in store for the character.

No idea! https://t.co/rK63dZxpRN
