Tom Hardy drops his Venom role as Eddie Brock to follow up Hugh Jackman in this stylishly subtle Wolverine design.
Audiences will next see Tom Hardy in Venom: Let There Be Carnage alongside Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady, but he’s also one of stars often picked by comic book fans as a potential candidate to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in whatever plans Marvel Studios has for the mutant hero. Although Hardy seems pretty set on playing Eddie Brock and Venom for the foreseeable future, it’s not too hard to picture the actor picking up a set of Adamantium claws for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This design of the Venom star surfaced online, showing off a stylish version of Wolverine in the present day. The art used a GQ shot of Tom Hardy to imagine what Marvel’s next version of Logan Howlett could look like alongside other heroes in the MCU like Falcon, Winter Soldier and Doctor Strange. Houseofmat on Instagram redesigned the image to give the actor Logan’s iconic wild hairstyle as well as a subtle use of an ‘X’ pin, just to callback to his X-Men affiliation. Take a look at Tom Hardy as Wolverine below!

Should the star drop his Venom role to step into Hugh Jackman’s shoes as the next Wolverine? Which era of the comics should Marvel Studios draw from when mutants are finally introduced? Would you want to see Tom Hardy as Wolverine in an Avengers film? Sound-off in the comments below!
Directed by Andy Serkis from a script written by Kelly Marcel, Venom 2 stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Naomie Harris as Shriek, and Woody Harrelson as Carnage. In the meantime, fans can turn to all home media formats to re-watch the first film. Here’s the official synopsis for the film:
The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?
Venom is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Let There Be Carnage will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Hugh Jackman, Wolverine, Tom Hardy and the Venom sequel, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel!
