Star Wars The Clone Wars Darth Maul Sam WitwerDarth Maul voice actor Sam Witwer recently debunked a theory suggesting he had a cameo in the premiere of The Mandalorian season two.

Although Darth Maul recently appeared in the final season of The Clone Wars, some audiences thought the actor behind the villain had a cameo in The Mandalorian‘s opening episode of season two. Sam Witwer has been vocal about his Star Wars roles, even revealing that he was nearly given a part to play in The Mandalorian. However the Darth Maul voice actor hasn’t yet appeared in the series, but that hasn’t stopped some audiences assuming that he had a role in the latest episode.

One of the extras who appeared as a Mos Pelgo villager, Josh Moreno, took to Twitter to joke that IGN had spotted him in the background and assumed he was actually Sam Witwer. It was then that the Darth Maul voice actor replied, calling the outlet out for not doing its “due diligence.” It’s not the first time Witwer has called out a Star Wars related issue, as he previously criticized The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson – saying he hadn’t “done his homework” in regards to Luke Skywalker’s arc in the film.
