Now that The Quarry has officially been announced, I’ m hugely excited to share what I and the rest of the particular team at Supermassive Games have been working on. Our next chilling, cinematic horror game takes place at an idyllic summer time camp called Hackett’ s Quarry. On the yesterday of camp, our cast of teenage counselors are plunged into an unpredictable night of horror and find themselves unexpectedly hunted by blood-drenched locals and something far more sinister. How this interactive story originates is shaped by the decisions you make while playing as each of the counselors, whether that’ s in friendly conversation when things are calm or terrifying situations as the night progresses. You’ll be confronted with unimaginable choices as you play, and there is no right or even wrong answer—just know that typically the fate of the camp advisors is in your hands.

We possess a total of nine playable characters; teenagers who have spent the whole summer working because counselors and are looking to unwind and party together before heading back to their daily lives. That’ s assuming they survive, of course (and there’ s no guarantee that any of them will). Fans associated with teen horror movies will definitely recognize some classic archetypes when you first meet these characters, though there’ s more to them than initially meets the eye. I think where The Pull ‘ s brand regarding interactive horror sets itself apart is the myriad ways these characters’ personalities can change as the story—your story—progresses.

Every action you take and decision you make has consequences, many of which are not immediately apparent. It’ h not just the choices you choose when confronted by danger that dramatically impact the story: even simple, seemingly unimportant interactions between characters are significant. There’ t a butterfly effect to what you say and do, and you’ re never quite sure when you might find yourself among a rock and a hard place facing a real dilemma. Whatever choices you make or perhaps paths you don’ t get, the story continues on, resulting in a multitude of possible outcomes when things start in order to spiral out of control.

To really bring the whole experience to be able to life, we invested a lot of time plus effort into ensuring the game’s presentation—and even the character actors and actresses themselves—is of this utmost quality. The cinematic quality of this teen horror story is driven home by often the Hollywood talent portraying the consultants and other key characters in The Quarry . It’ s been amazing to see actors like David Arquette, Ariel Winter, Brenda Song, Lance Henriksen, and Ted Raimi—to name just a few—really bring our characters to life, not only with their incredible voice work, but also along with the physical performances we’ re able to put in your game using cutting-edge capture techniques. When combined with traditional filmmaking skills and a director of photography working on each shot, the exact cast’ s performances make for a truly cinematic experience that’ s i9000 sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

We know that experiencing a thrilling apprehension story can be even more fun with friends, so we’ ve developed The particular Quarry with this in mind from day one. You can play with your friends in two unique ways: the local pass-the-controller mode in which each player controls one or maybe more specific counselors, and an online mode (across the same console generation only) where choices are usually decided by vote. If you think some of the choices you have got to make are nigh impossible when you’ re playing solo, just wait until you’ lso are confronted with them in multiplayer, where the story is shaped by the whole group.

For those involving you who would prefer for you to kick back and watch a binge-worthy horror story unfold, we’ ve also included a Movie Mode option. Here you can choose which of multiple versions you want to watch; and there’ s even an option to help customize the traits of each of the characters, enabling you towards press play and see how your movie unfolds! Any character can be the star of the very show—or die before daylight comes.

The Quarry will be available for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles on June 10. All connected with us at Supermassive Games usually are excited for you to get your hands on it, and we can’ t wait to hear how your stories from summer season camp play out! As the Hackett’s Quarry summer camp motto goes: What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.
