‘Hawkeye’ Star Jeremy Renner Says He’ll Never Watch ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Again

Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner has stated that he will never watch Avengers: Endgame again.

Jeremy Renner made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Hawkeye back in 2011 in Thor. He went on to have a much larger role in Avengers before becoming a more central character in its sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. He was notably absent from Avengers: Infinity War before making a big dramatic return in Avengers: Endgame.

In Avengers: Endgame, it was revealed that Jeremy Renner had turned into a full vigilante after his family was snapped out of existence by Thanos. His biggest moment in the film was when he and Scarlett Johannson’s Black Widow fought over who would sacrifice themselves in order to obtain the Soul Stone. Black Widow won and Hawkeye was left to deliver the bad news to the rest of his fellow Avengers. And apparently, this film is too much for the actor to handle.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio, the actor spoke at length about his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while promoting his new Hawkeye series. In the interview, he revealed that he’ll never watch Avengers: Endgame again because the movie turned him into a sobbing mess:

“I saw it at the premiere, but that was just something to celebrate for all of us. We were all laughing and weeping and it was a lot to do. I’ll never watch that again, it was a difficult experience. We were all just a sobbing mess and we’re laughing. It’s amazing, we were like audience members and that was awesome to experience. I mean, that was a lovely, beautiful experience to share.”

Here is the synopsis for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye:

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh is expected to return in her Black Widow role.

Hawkeye is set to premiere with two episodes on November 24, exclusively on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
