Michael Keaton Angered That Ryan Reynolds Crossed Over Between DC & Marvel

Michael Keaton was angered when he found out that Ryan Reynolds also crossed over between DC and Marvel.

Alongside Ryan Reynolds, Michael Keaton is one of the few stars to work in both Marvel and DC properties. Reynolds first joined Marvel in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine as Deadpool. He later jumped ship and went on to become Green Lantern in 2011. When his DC film was critically panned, Reynolds returned to Marvel as Deadpool in 2016. Now, it looks like the comedian has found a permanent home at Marvel.

On the other hand, Micheal Keaton became DC’s Batman in 1989 and retired from the role after 1992’s Batman Returns. Decades later, he hopped over to Marvel as the Vulture for Spider-Man: Homecoming, a character he’s set to reprise soon. However, Keaton is also set to return as Batman for the upcoming Flash film by Andy Muschietti.

Seeing as Michael Keaton has characters in both the Marvel and DC universes, he thought he was rather special. That is until Jimmy Kimmel revealed to him that Ryan Reynolds also holds the same honor.

“There’s a lot I can’t say because I don’t know what’s going on. I’m in two worlds, aren’t I? I’m in the Marvel world and DC.”

Then, Jimmy Kimmel told Michael Keaton that Ryan Reynolds also exists in both worlds. To that, Keaton let out an expletive and yelled “Really?” Of course, Keaton’s response is likely in jest.

The exchange takes place at the 12:00 minute mark.

Michael Keaton will next be seen in Morbius. Here is the official synopsis for Morbius:

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.

Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the film stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster, while Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.

Morbius is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on January 28th, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Morbius and its connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
