Marvel Studios Stopped ‘Hit-Monkey’ Creators From Including Bullseye

Marvel Studios stepped in and stopped the Hit-Monkey creators from using Bullseye.

All ten episodes of Hit-Monkey are finally available to stream on Hulu. The adult animated Marvel series focuses on a Japanese snow monkey who is guided by a ghost (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) as he destroys the criminal underbelly of Tokyo. Think Ronin from Avengers: Endgame except less depressing and more chaotic and hilarious. Despite being a Marvel series, the adult show is in no way associated with Marvel Studios’ animated roster, which currently includes What If…?

Seeing as Hit-Monkey is a Marvel series, notable baddies from the franchise pop up, including Silver Samurai and Lady Bullseye. It turns out that creators Will Speck and Josh Gordon originally wanted to utilize Bullseye for the series, but Marvel Studios stepped in and closed that idea down. Instead, the duo revealed to Murphy’s Multiverse, that Marvel allowed them to use Lady Bullseye.

“Bullseye was in the original issues of Hit-Monkey and that was who we originally thought we would use but for various reasons, we couldn’t. But Marvel offered us Lady Bullseye instead and we thought, ‘Wow. That’s so much more interesting since she’s a character we haven’t seen much of yet.’ We were thrilled that we got that pivot.”

Marvel Studios might have pulled the plug on including Bullseye as they might have major plans for the villain down the road. Rumors have circulated that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is set to make a return, as soon as Spider-Man: No Way Home. Seeing as Daredevil and Bullseye are notorious enemies, it might mean that Marvel Studios will tackle the villain in the future.

Hit-Monkey is currently streaming on Hulu. The animated Marvel series features the voice talents of Fred Tatasciore, Jason Sudeikis, George Takei, Olivia Munn, and Ally Maki.
