‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Preview Shows Off Ewan McGregor’s Jedi Master, Darth Vader

A new sizzle reel for Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi teases the returns of the titular Jedi Master and Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader.

With Disney Plus Day now underway, Lucasfilm has released a sizzle reel for Obi-Wan Kenobi, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the Star Wars series. The sneak peek, which is currently available to watch on Disney Plus, features director Deborah Chow and Star Wars veteran Ewan McGregor discussing the six-episode project and live-action rematch of Obi-Wan and Darth Vader.

While the Obi-Wan Kenobi sizzle reel doesn’t include any footage from the series, Disney Plus did reveal concept art of Ewan McGregor’s Jedi Master and Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader. “The most beautiful thing of all is it’s brought me back with Hayden,” McGregor says in the sizzle reel, before adding: “To have another swing at each other might be quite satisfying for everybody.”

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi director Deborah Chow teased the following about the series:

“This is a quite a dark time we’re coming into with him, just being a Jedi. It’s not safe. There are Jedi hunters out there.”

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been described as a special event series for the Disney Plus streaming service, and details on the highly-anticipated Star Wars series are being hidden away on Tatooine. Still, we do know the series will feature a rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and before their final confrontation in A New Hope.

Directed by Deborah Chow and written by Joby Harold, Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is currently set to hit Disney Plus in 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Ewan McGregor and the upcoming Star Wars series, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original content.
