Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu has a hilarious response to fans on the prowl for Andrew Garfield Spider-Man leaks.
Earlier this week, a photo supposedly from Spider-Man: No Way Home showed Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland all suited up as their respective Spider-Men, sans mask. It’s unclear if the photo was a leak or a photoshop, but it certainly caused quite a commotion on the internet. For months, fans and jourbalists have been speculating if, in fact, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are actually in the upcoming Spidey threequel.
Andrew Garfield has had a slew of films come out this year, which means he’s had to fend off dozens of questions from journalists by telling them he’s not in the film. In what’s becoming a recurring joke for the internet, Simu Liu has joined in on the fun by confirming that The Amazing Spider-Man star isn’t in Shang-Chi.
Simu Liu confirmed in an “exclusive” photo that Andrew Garfield doesn’t pop up in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings that he posted on Twitter.
It appears that only Father Time can tell us at this point if Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are actually in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The rumors of their apperance have persisted for over a year, and have taken on a life of their own, to the point where high-profile stars like Simu Liu are commenting on them. As for Liu, his Marvel debut Shang-Chi hits Disney Plus later this Friday, making it the perfect movie to watch over the weekend as the weather gets cooler.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script written by David Callaham, the upcoming Marvel film stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley and Tony Leung.
