Dwayne Johnson Talks ‘Black Adam’ And Fan Reaction To DC FanDome Footage

Dwayne Johnson has opened up about fans’ reactions to footage of Black Adam during the DC FanDome event and what they can expect from the film.

It’s been a long road to get to Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam film. The actor was rumored to be part of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before it was revealed that he would be playing the role of the Shazam! antagonist. The character was originally set to play the villain as part of the first film before it was decided to give Dwayne Johnson his own movie.

After a number of delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the production went underway with news of the film’s cast slowly making its way to the web. James Bond star Pierce Brosnan joined the film as Doctor Fate with The Invisible Man actor Aldis Hodge joining the movie as Hawkman. Filming wrapped up earlier this year and one of the film’s first scenes was released during the DC FanDome event.

In a recent interview with Variety, Dwayne Johnson opened up about that initial scene, fan’s reactions to it, and further hyped the film up:

“I can tell you about Black Adam that we made a great movie and a little bit of footage that we did show in that tease… Fans went f*cing crazy! F-ing nuts! It was just so cool to see. I also think it’s an exciting time at DC with Seven Bucks [Productions], Walter Hamada, and for what we plan on doing in the world of DC. It’s an exciting time, so you can feel it, and it’s good.”
