Brand new merchandise from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teases the menacing Shuma-Gorath and new ally America Chavez.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to get a whole lot crazier now that the multiverse is set to be sprung wide open. At the center of the chaos is the Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange, who is set to be a pivotal part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, another film that deals with the multiverse spiraling out of control. It’s unclear just how much the Spidey threequel will factor into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but we’re certain repercussions will be explored.
Details on the Doctor Strange sequel are slim, though we do know that Wanda and the good doctor will be teaming up together to take down sinister forces that come their way. One such baddie is Shuma-Gorath, one of the MCU’s most mystical villains. Shuma-Gorath is an ancient, omnipotent deity who stalks the multiverse.
A puzzle box for the film showcases the good doctor fighting the behemoth. In the corner, Doctor Strange and his allies can be seen, which include Wanda, Wong, and America Chavez.
While the focus of the merchandise is Stephen Strange taking on Shuma-Gorath, America Chavez can be seen on the left-hand side corner alongside the good doctor’s allies. It’s unclear just how prominent of a role America Chavez will have in the Doctor Strange sequel, but it’s safe to say that she’ll be helpful when it comes to taking down Shuma-Gorath.
Details on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are currently limited, though it is said to feature horror elements. Furthermore, the Disney Plus miniseries WandaVision also served as the lead-in to the sequel. Scott Derrickson is still attached to the film as an executive producer, with Sam Raimi set to direct from a script written by Michael Waldron. The sequel will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Xochitl Gomez.
