In Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) learn to traverse the ever-changing world now that their best friend Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is gone. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Steve passed on his shield to Sam, encouraging him to take on the mantle as the new Captain America.
Over the course of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie’s Falcon struggles to accept his new position to succeed his friend Steve Rogers as the new Captain America. But when John Walker (Wyatt Russell) shows that he is unfit in the role, Sam Wilson steps up to carry on the legacy of the shield.

The design showcases how the mantle and aesthetic really suits Sam Wilson well, and why he was the perfect candidate to carry on the legacy of Steve Rogers and the ideals of the Star Spangled Man:
