James Gunn Says Daniela Melchior Isn’t In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’

James Gunn shot down speculation that The Suicide Squad star Daniela Melchior will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

It’s pretty common to see James Gunn reunite with actors he has a history with on previous projects, and the director revealed that will continue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with stars from The Suicide Squad.

Some fans believed that Daniela Melchior would be one of those Suicide Squad stars that would reunite with James Gunn on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after the actress shared photos on social media of herself getting alien makeup done. This speculation went so far that a report came out that Melchior was playing Drax’s daughter, Moondragon, in the Marvel sequel. However, Gunn was quick to debunk the speculation on Twitter:

FALSE. https://t.co/4PH4wOHBlF

Here is the synopsis for The Suicide Squad:

Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Peter Capaldi, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Michael Rooker, Pete Davidson, Nathan Fillion, Sean Gunn, Flula Borg, Mayling Ng, Tinashe Kajese, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Alice Braga, Juan Diego Botto, Joaquin Cosio, Storm Reid, and Taika Waititi.

The Suicide Squad is now available on BluRay, 4K, DVD, and Digital Download, while Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
