A shot from the new footage for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman released at DC FanDome appears to confirm a recent rumor going around.
The new trailer and behind-the-scenes featurette for The Batman capped off DC FanDome over the weekend, with plenty of shots to dissect. The new footage gave us an even better look at Matt Reeves’ take on the Caped Crusader told through the film’s dazzling visuals.
Last week, a rumor from @ViewerAnon on Twitter out of recent test screenings for The Batman suggested it will be a “full-blown noir film” complete with a voiceover that comes from a journal Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne has in the vein of Frank Miller’s Year One.
In The Batman behind-the-scenes reel shown at DC FanDome, there’s a quick shot of what appears to be Bruce Wayne’s journal. We see sketches of the Bat symbol and dialogue from the film that we hear in the trailer written out. In the image below, you can see the lines, “when that light hits the sky, it’s not just a call. It’s a warning,” and “fear is a tool. They think I’m hiding in the shadows, but I am the shadows.”
The plot of Robert Pattinon’s The Batman is being kept under lock and key, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger version of Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as the Dark Knight of Gotham City. The film will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the hero. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films with Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news regarding the DC Multiverse, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content.
