J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves & Bruce Timm Preview ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’

JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves, Bruce Timm, and James Tucker teased HBO Max and Cartoon Network’s Batman: Caped Crusader animated series.

It was originally rumored that a Batman: The Animated Series revival was in the works for HBO Max. As it turns out, we are getting a new Batman animated series from JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm, who will present a new take on the iconic DC Comics hero with Caped Crusader.

DC FanDome currently has no shortage of Batman projects from Robert Pattinson’s solo film to Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck’s return in The Flash. FanDome also covered Batman: Caped Crusader with JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves, Bruce Timm, and James Tucker sharing new details about the upcoming animated series coming to HBO Max and Cartoon Network. You can check out the panel below.

Meanwhile, the plot of Matt Reeves’ The Batman is being kept under wraps, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger version of Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as the Dark Knight of Gotham City. The film will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the hero. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films with Pattinson.

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Batman: Caped Crusader and other projects coming from DC. Also, make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content.
