A brand new look at Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen from The Flash has been revealed.
After years of waiting, Ezra Miller is finally set to get his own solo outing as The Flash. Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash is set to loosely adapt the hit Flashpoint storyline, which sees Barry Allen going back in time to save his mother, only for the multiverse to be completely jumbled up. In the solo film’s case, multiple Batmen are supposed to unravel, namely Ben Affleck’s and Michael Keaton’s. Beyond that, details on the film are slim, though we should get more info at next weekend’s DC FanDome, the comic company’s virtual fan event.
Ahead of the event, a brand new trailer was released to tease what fans can expect. The brief trailer included brand new footage from The Batman, Black Adam, and The Flash, among others. In the quick promo, we see Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen sporting glasses and working in a lab, likely where he’s practicing as a forensic scientist.
The last time we saw Barry Allen, he was finally becoming confident in his skills as The Flash and revealed to his dad that he was about to begin work in a crime lab. As teased by the new look above, we’ll likely see Ezra Miller’s speedster work as a low-level grunt at the crime lab. Fans can also expect more information surrounding The Flash next weekend when DC FanDome airs on October 16, at 1:00 PM EST.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Flash and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
