Pernille Teisbaek’s Mango Collection is Here and I Tried On the Best Bits

Fashion collaborations are having a bit of a moment, and it feels like every month another brand announces that it’s joining forces with a high-profile industry name. As a fashion editor it’s easy to become cynical about these powerhouse pairings, but every now and then one comes along that hits the nail on the head. This month? It’s Mango’s collaboration with Scandi It girl Pernille Teisbaek

As one of the ‘original’ influencers, I’ve genuinely loved Pernille’s clean-lined yet statement-making style ever since I joined Instagram, and it’s this elevated approach to basics that winds its way through her Mango edit, manifesting in immaculate tailoring, versatile tank tops and flattering jeans. “I was thinking about the woman, the mother, the girl”, Pernille explains. “It was important that we responded to the versatility and ease that busy, modern women need from their wardrobes. For me, that’s about good materials and good, timeless fits”.

I had a chance to try on some of the key pieces from the collection, which drops today. As an outwear-lover, I was obsessed with the boxy white blazer, which pairs perfectly with the straight leg jeans, and the beautiful navy tailored coat with its nipped-in waist and dramatic sleeves. I liked how this tailored coat was nipped-in at the waist, which is a departure from the oversized styles proliferating right now. The contrasting puffed sleeves also add plenty of drama.

The mini skirt was one of the key trend to come off the runway this season, and this simple black number has truly converted me. It’s definitely on the shorter side (I’m roughly 5’7″) so perfect for petite individuals.

I’m a sucker for a boxy blazer, and this cream number ticks all the boxes. It works beautifully with the collection’s perfect straight leg jeans and tank top.

This bomber jacket reminded me of some of the styles that appeared on Celine’s AW21 runway, and I can imagine it looking very cool with a midi skirt and chunky boots.

Another mini, but this time in dress form. With thing straps and a thigh-grazing hemline, it packs plenty of ’90s vibes. I like how it has been styled on the website with the matching flared trousers.
