James Gunn teases “one of the greatest MCU characters of all time” will debut in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
With Disney Plus, Marvel Studios is now adding more unique projects to its sprawling universe, and some of them appear to be holiday specials. Last year, it was announced that James Gunn will direct The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special during the production of the third film. Marvel Studios is also reportedly developing a Halloween special with Werewolf by Night.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will premiere on Disney Plus in 2022 and take place in between Thor: Love and Thunder and the upcoming third film. On Twitter, James Gunn dropped a new tidbit about the Holiday Special, sharing that a great character will make their MCU debut in it:
James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn. The cast was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Here’s the synopsis:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films,”Avengers: Endgame.”
