‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Teases An Insane Marvel Crossover

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has teased a Marvel game-changer.

Major spoilers ahead for Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

After Venom and Carnage successfully duke it out in one of the most interesting battles we’ve seen, another Marvel “baddie” is teased for Eddie Brock and his symbiote to take on. The mid-credits scene for Venom: Let There Be Carnage hints at Venom taking on Spider-Man. To be specific: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Wow!

Just like the film itself, the mid-credits scene for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a fever dream in its own right. After putting Cletus Kasady’s Carnage to rest, Venom and Eddie head to a beach destination and find themselves in a dingy hotel room. As both are watching television, Venom tells Eddie that he has been hiding a secret from his host.

The symbiote then says that he can’t offer all of his knowledge and past but he gives his host a morsel of what he’s experienced. Then, the room frantically rumbles, and the room is filled with bright yellow as the two minds marry. Just as quickly as it started, it’s over. The TV show they were watching has now been replaced by J. Jonah Jameson’s telecast that unveils Spider-Man’s identity AKA Peter Parker from Marvel Studios’ Far From Home.

The room has clearly changed in the wake of the rumble but Venom is distracted at the sight of the unmasked Peter Parker. Overtaking Eddie’s body, Venom then says “That guy” and licks the television screen. Then, a confused man appears, asking Eddie what he’s doing in his room.

Wow! So, there’s quite a lot to unpack here. For one, it’s clear that Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have officially merged in some capacity. It’s entirely possible that the rumble and bright light that shook Eddie was none other than the multiverse opening up by the hands of Sylvie in Loki. It’s more than likely that Eddie was transported to another universe or realm because the hotel room he’s in after the bright light and Spider-Man revelation is drastically different. Then again, it’s also possible that Venom shared too much information with Eddie, and this is just all a dream? Likely not, but the cliche idea would be in line with Venom’s brand of self-aware bonkers humor.

Here is the synopsis for Sony’s first Venom film:

“The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?”

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.

Venom is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, while Andy Serkis’ Let There Be Carnage is out now in cinemas.
