‘Mission: Impossible 7’ Director Celebrates Production Wrap On Tom Cruise Sequel

Production on Mission: Impossible 7 starring Tom Cruise has officially wrapped.

After over a year, principal photography on Mission: Impossible 7 has officially been completed. Director Christopher McQuarrie, who returns following his two previous entries with Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout took to his official Instagram to celebrate production completion on the new Tom Cruise sequel.

Mission: Impossible 7 had a tumultuous production, given the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The film’s production also made headline news last year after audio of Tom Cruise berating crew members for not following the social distancing and mask protocols leaked online. Now, the cast and crew can celebrate the end of production after about a year of work. Christopher McQuarrie shared the following post on his official Instagram, sharing his gratitude with the cast and crew:

Based on the photo, it looks like Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise are sitting on a train car, potentially teasing an action sequence that involved a practical train crash. Given that each Mission: Impossible film since Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol upped the ante with the action, it’s safe to say that Mission: Impossible 7 will be no different.

Here is the official synopsis for the most recent film in the series:

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Cavill, Sian Brooke, Frederick Schmidt, and Angela Bassett.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, and DVD. Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible 7 is set to hit theaters on September 30, 2022.
