‘Doctor Strange 2’: New BTS Photo Confirms Scarlet Witch Star Elizabeth Olsen Has Wrapped Filming

A new behind-the-scenes photo from Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness confirms that Elizabeth Olsen has wrapped filming as Scarlet Witch.

Fresh off the heels of the Emmy nominated WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen is set to reprise her role as the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Details are slim on the Doctor Strange sequel though, as the title suggests, the film should focus on the Sorcerer Supreme and Scarlet Witch dealing with the ramifications of the multiverse opening up.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, directed by Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi, officially wrapped up filming earlier this April. Since then, reshoots have taken place for an unspecified amount of time and it looks like Elizabeth Olsen is done with her scenes.

Hairstylist Tricia Sawyer took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo of her, Elizabeth Olsen, and another individual with the caption: We’re not so “Strange” anymore! That’s a wrap.”

It’s unclear if only Elizabeth Olsen’s scenes as Scarlet Witch have wrapped or filming as a whole has concluded. Only time will tell how the newly assumed Scarlet Witch will factor into the Doctor Strange sequel, though if we go by Strange’s inclusion in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it looks like the Sorcerer Supreme will need Scarlet Witch’s help to close off the multiverse.

Details on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are currently limited, though it is said to feature horror elements. Furthermore, the Disney Plus miniseries WandaVision also served as the lead-in to the sequel. Scott Derrickson is still attached to the film as an executive producer, with Sam Raimi set to direct from a script written by Michael Waldron. The sequel will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Xochitl Gomez.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released on March 25th, 2022. Meanwhile, all episodes of Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision are available to stream on Disney Plus.
