Ludwig Goransson will officially be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to score Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
One of the most exhilarating components of Black Panther was Ludwig Goransson’s highly authentic African-influenced score. Goransson, a frequent collaborator of director Ryan Coogler and artist Childish Gambino went to Africa after getting the Marvel gig to brush up on the continent’s music. Goransson’s trip to Africa and copious research paid off as he went on to win his first Academy Award for Black Panther‘s score. Now, Goransson has confirmed that he will be scoring Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The long-awaited sequel Wakanda Forever is currently filming in the United States and is expected to hit cinemas later next year. Ludwig Goransson revealed to Variety that he has only just started work on Wakanda Forever.
“I’m starting conceptual ideas and having conversations with Ryan.”
Fresh off the heels of scoring Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, Ludwig Goransson is now working on Pixar’s Turning Red, which is set to hit cinemas early next year. Once Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wraps up, Goransson should be hard at work on the sequel’s score and hopefully bag him and Marvel another Oscar.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
