‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’: Daredevil Star Doesn’t Want To Ruin Potential Surprises

Daredevil star Charlie Cox wants to keep quiet about any potential surprises surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Rumors since 2020 have suggested that Spider-Man: No Way Home will feature Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning as their previous Peter Parkers, with their villains joining the Marvel Studios threequel as well. While those are still rumors and should be taken with a grain of salt, the latest trailer featured Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, giving some credence to the potential live-action Spider-Verse theories. Another rumor that has been packaged in with the Peter Parkers one is that Daredevil/Matt Murdock will pop up to get Tom Holland’s Peter out of legal trouble.

The rumor of Charlie Cox’s return as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home has persisted for over a year, yet the star has continuously shot it down despite the mounting evidence that suggests otherwise. Cox recently addressed the rumors when asked if his forearms were slamming papers down in a sequence that saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker get investigated.

Now, in a new interview with Steve Varley, Cox was asked if he got a “thrill” from seeing fans speculate about his potential Spider-Man: No Way Home appearance. The Daredevil star revealed that he’s not on social media but he’s “aware” of what fans are theorizing.

“I’m not on social media, I don’t have the same awareness about it as probably other people do, but obviously, I hear about it. My mom will tell me about it and my wife, who’s aware of it.”

“I see it as a massive, massive…It makes me feel very grateful that people care that much.”

At this point, the Daredevil star began to stutter and act frazzled, clearly feeling unease as he went on to discuss how he feels anxious about ruining a potential appearance.

“You know I also like…It makes…I don’t. I wouldn’t want to ruin something either way. Do you know what I mean? So, it makes me a little anxious in that regard, you know, because it’s a difficult thing to talk about. You know all I would say, I guess everyone, myself included, is just gonna have to wait and see what happens.”

Do yourself a favor and watch the interview (the question is asked around the 9:00 minute mark) and take note of Charlie Cox’s body language. Perhaps we’re being a bit presumptuous but it seems almost evident that the Daredevil star is hiding some. We’ll find out soon enough if Daredevil is in Spider-Man: No Way Home as the film hits cinemas in a few short months.
