New stills from Venom: Let There Be Carnage tease Woody Harrelson’s demented Cletus Kasady.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage might be looking at another delay but Sony is still fueling the hype train for the Tom Hardy sequel. Let There Be Carnage picks up where the first film left off, focusing on Eddie Brock managing the symbiote that lies within him. While Brock is trying to live a double life as a journalist and vigilante, Woody Harrelson’s nefarious serial killer character Cletus Kasady is making friends with the blood-red Carnage symbiote.

Fans have been waiting for years to see Venom and Carnage together on the big screen, so it’s quite exciting that an actor as prolific and proficient as Woody Harrelson has been tapped to play the deranged Cletus Kasady. Sony has released four new stills from Venom: Let There Be Carnage, with three of them focusing on Woody Harrelson’s villain.

While the photos clearly spotlight Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady both in and out of the Carnage symbiote, we’re curious to know what exactly Eddie Brock is investigating. The first film did a great job of showing his detective-like skills, so we’ll just have to wait an see what story Brock is looking to break this time around.

Here is the synopsis for Sony’s first Venom film:

The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
