‘Spider-Man No Way Home’ First-Day Trailer Breaks ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Record

Spider-Man: No Way Home just broke one of Avengers: Endgame‘s insane records.

We knew for a fact that Spider-Man: No Way Home – which is set to introduce a live-action Spider-Verse – would break the internet, but not to this degree! After the trailer dropped on Monday night, the first look at the Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures joint production managed to rack up a gobsmacking 355.5 million views in 24 hours according to Sony. Who was the previous record-holder? Avengers: Endgame, which originally scored gold with over 289 million views. Talk about Spidey overachieving.

For context surrounding just how insane that number is, Spider-Man: Far From Home – which came out the same year as Avengers: Endgame – achieved a modest 135 million views. Here’s another record: Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s trailer generated the largest number of 24-hour social media chatter of all time with 4.5 million mentions.

With all this positivity and record-breaking, it’s safe to say that Sony and Marvel might just have the biggest movie ever on their hands. The cinematic Spider-Man mythos sprawls over two decades and generations, so it’s not surprising that everyone is eager to see their favorite Spider-Man on the big screen once again.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina.
