Netflix has announced a global fan event titled Tudum with a cheeky promotional video featuring some of your favorite stars.
It’s only recently that streaming has become the dominant form of consuming entertainment but it feels much longer, doesn’t it? Netflix began its streaming platform in 2007 but it wasn’t until the early 2010s that the service took off, becoming the go-to, premiere standard for streaming services. In just over a decade, Netflix has amassed over 200 million paid subscribers and crafted a slew of hit movies and TV shows that have gone on to weave their own legacy. So, it’s no surprise that Netflix announced their very own global fan event today titled Tudum.
Tudum is a global fan event from Netflix that will feature over 70 movies and TV shows. The event takes place on Saturday, September 25th at 12:00 PM EST. The event will stream on Netflix, Twitter, and Twitch, and will feature first looks, behind-the-scenes interviews, and details from some of the streaming service’s upcoming offerings. Fans can expect new looks at Stranger Things 4, Army of Thieves, The Witcher, and Cowboy Bepop. Eager viewers can find more information at Tudum.com.
To celebrate the announcement, Netflix has released a promotional video starring some of the streaming service’s most iconic stars trying to pronounce “Tudum”, the iconic Netflix sound that plays before all original series and films.
Key stars from the promotional video include The Witcher‘s Henry Cavill, Extraction’s Chris Hemsworth, The Old Guard‘s Charlize Theron, The Harder They Fall‘s Regina King and Idris Elba, as well as a slew of Stranger Things cast members. Netflix also has made a point to double down on international productions by introducing Tudum preshows for markets such as India and Korea, which will debut an hour before the main Anglo-Saxon presentation.
