‘Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings’ TV Spot Teases Wong

A new Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings TV spot shows more of Wong.

It has been known for a while that the sorcerer Wong will be appearing in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Previous trailers and TV spots have shown the powerful sorcerer taking on the Abomination in a cage match. Now, a new TV spot for the latest Marvel film shows more of the Doctor Strange character.

In the new TV spot, Wong can be seen in a darkly lit library, likely the Sanctum, where he’s telling someone off-screen that “there’s no going back.” It’s unclear who Wong is speaking to, though it wouldn’t be surprising if he was speaking to Shang-Chi itself. It may be a stretch but it would be amazing to see Doctor Strange in the film as well.

The trailer also emphasizes the legacy of previous Marvel characters, clearly pointing towards Shang-Chi as the universe’s newest hero. Apart from the brief but emotional nostalgic sequence, there’s tons of new footage surrounding the magical and mystical creatures in the film. Phoenix’s can be seen flying, as well as a giant bear/dog-like creature leaping into the air.

Here is the synopsis for Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings:

“Simu Liu stars as Shang-Chi in Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.”

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script written by David Callaham, the upcoming Marvel film stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Ronny Chieng, and Dallas Liu. The upcoming movie will hit theaters on September 3, 2021.
