Sebastian Stan has congratulated Anthony Mackie for signing onto Captain America 4.
In the season finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson officially took on the mantle of Captain America. Shortly afterwards, it was announced that series writer Malcolm Spellman would be penning a fourth entry in the Captain America franchise. Yesterday, it was confirmed that Anthony Mackie had officially signed a deal with Marvel Studios to star in Captain America 4. The news was met with positive reactions throughout the internet, especially from fans.
Details on the fourth film are slim and it’s unclear if Sebastian Stan’s The Winter Soldier will return alongside Mackie. Despite Bucky Barne’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe currently uncertain, Stan took to Instagram to congratulate his co-star by sharing the news with all of his fans.
Captain America 4 is currently untitled and doesn’t have a director. It’s also not known when the Anthony Mackie film will release. Now that Mackie is officially on board, production on the film should truck along nicely. Who knows, we might even find out if Bucky Barnes will be joining Captain America soon enough?
