Marvel Studios is creating a new mini-studio branch that will specifically be dedicated to animated projects.
First revealed in the Spring of 2019, Marvel’s What If…? became the first major animated project to be produced by Marvel Studios. Since then, a trailer and release date for the upcoming series has been revealed, showing off a few unique premises. From the look of things, this will not be a one-off thing.
While speaking to Variety, Marvel Studios Vice President Victoria Alonso revealed a number of things about the studio’s future in the television realm. She has been on board with the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its start and has served as a producer on nearly every installment of the universe. During the interview, she revealed that both Hawkeye and Ms Marvel would debut later this year. She also stated that Marvel Studio would launch an animation branch for future projects:
“We’re going to have our animation branch and mini studio, and there will be more to come from that as well. We’re super excited about animation, which is my first love.”
