From Vestiaire Collective’s Parisian roots and Imparfaite Paris’s Gallic cool, it’s fair to say that the French know a thing or two about vintage fashion. As a dedicated second-hand shopper myself, I’ve also noticed that it’s the French who have long championed a more multifaceted approach to their wardrobes: pairing high-end designers and affordable high street with their one-of-a-kind vintage finds. From fashion influencers to website founders, these preloved hunters really speak my language—well, sartorially anyway.
So I did what any good fashion editor would do, and I emailed some of France’s finest vintage fanatics to get exclusive insight into the second-hand pieces that are on their shopping lists this season. And of course, they delivered. Their edits range from casual Levi’s jeans and unnamed vintage raffia totes to archival Balenciaga dresses and Chanel sandals—a perfect encapsulation of the eclecticism and multifaceted appeal of shopping vintage. My personal favourite has to be Ariane de Béchade’s (co-founder of Imparfaite Paris) edit of cool-girl separates, which includes one very cool fringed jacket. However, if you’re more of an archival fashion fan, I would recommend heading down to Estelle Chemouny’s selection, which is packed full of iconic pieces from fashion runways past. If nothing else, it’s essentially high-octane window shopping. Scroll down to see and shop the vintage wish lists of France’s coolest fashion insiders. You’re welcome.
