Ian McShane To Return For Keanu Reeves’ ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’

Character actor Ian McShane is set to reprise his role as Winston for the upcoming Keanu Reeves film, John Wick: Chapter 4.

The upcoming John Wick film is quickly setting itself up to be the biggest entry in the franchise yet. Laurence Fishburne has teased that he will return to the series, with the film adding martial arts superstar Donnie Yen and Mortal Kombat actor Hiroyuki Sanada to its roster. Some other old stars will be returning as actor Ian McShane will reprise his role as Winston in the upcoming film.

In the John Wick movies, Ian McShane’s character was something of an enigma. In the films, he was, on paper at least, the manager of the Continental in New York City; a safe harbor for criminals and assassins in particular. The films also suggested, however, that he held a lot more power than he let on and had a deeper, unexplained relationship with Keanu Reeves’ titular assassin.

In the franchise’s latest film, John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum the relationship between John Wick and Winston goes south. After a brutal gunfight with the forces of the criminal governing body, The High Table, Winston shoots John several times, causing the character to fall to his apparent death. It is then revealed that he was saved by Laurence Fishburne’s Bowery King who joins forces to fight the High Table.

What do you all make of this return? Are you excited to see Ian McShane return to the John Wick franchise? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for the latest film in the franchise:

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

Directed by Chad Stahelski from a script written by Derek Kolstad, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Anjelica Huston, and Boban Marjanovic.

The next film in the franchise, John Wick: Chapter 4, is currently scheduled to be released on May 27, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the John Wick franchise and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
