Superheroes Gunpowder, Supersonic, & Blue Hawk Added To ‘The Boys’ Season 3

The Boys season 3 will introduce heroes Gunpowder, Supersonic, and Blue Hawk.

The third season of The Boys is set to be as explosive as the first two, further exploring the team’s anger and mission towards Vought International, the company that superheroes operate under. As their mission against the company continues, so does Vought’s need to create and promote new superheroes. Amazon announced today that two new characters not seen in the comics are set to appear in the third season: Supersonic, and Blue Hawk. Gunpowder, a minor villain in the comics is also set to make his television debut.

Since two of the new superheroes are original creations, details are practically non-existent regarding what their personalities and powers are. As for Gunpowder, he is part of the corrupt superhero team Teenage Kix, but he’s far from being a major influence on the main story. The third season of The Boys is set to explore Soldier Boy, a Captain America-like hero, who ran a team called Payback, which was essentially the Seven before the Seven. It’s entirely possible that the two new characters could be part of Soldier Boy’s Payback team, or they could be contemporary heroes that could join the Seven. It’s also likely that the two new characters will be joining Gunpowder on the Teenage Kix team, but it remains to be seen if Gundpowder’s canonical origins make the cut. Gunpowder is set to be played by Sean Patrick Flannery, Miles Gaston Villanueva star as Supersonic, and Nick Wechsler will take on the role of Blue Hawk.

Here is the official synopsis for the second season of The Boys:

The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Aya Cash, and Colby Minifie.
