Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Rachel Zegler has been cast as Disney’s live-action Snow White.
Disney has found its latest live-action princess in Rachel Zegler, who has been tapped to play Snow White. Zegler is currently set to star in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Steven Spielberg’s upcoming West Side Story remake. Though she hasn’t even made her debut yet with West Side Story, Zegler is already one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood. Deadline reports that footage from Fox’s West Side Story blew Disney executives away, paving the way for Zegler to quickly join the Snow White film after her audition.
Marc Webb, the man behind The Amazing Spider-Man films, has been brought in to direct Rachel Zegler for the film. Webb released an official statement praising the Shazam! star.
“Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale,”
Disney has been quick to create live-action versions of their princess films. The live-action Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast films were both critical and commercial successes. Their latest effort includes a live-action The Little Mermaid remake, which stars Halle Bailey. The Snow White film is set to begin production in 2022, giving Zegler plenty of time to promote West Side Story and finish up her scenes in Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out.
