Mortal Kombat star Hiroyuki Sanada has joined the cast of Keanu Reeves’ upcoming action film, John Wick 4.
Every installment in the John Wick franchise continues to blow away fans with its casting choices. From Oscar winners like Halle Berry to cult icons like Franco Nero, the franchise never lacks acting talent. John Wick 4 has already added martial arts star, Donnie Yen, to its roster and Lawrence Fishbourne has confirmed that he will be reprising his role for the upcoming film. The Keanu Reeves film, however, is not done adding people to its roster.
According to a new report, John Wick 4 has added Hiroyuki Sanada to its cast. Moviegoers will probably recognize Sanada as Scorpion in the recent Mortal Kombat film and also appeared in Avengers: Endgame, Army of the Dead, and The Wolverine. It is currently unknown what role he will play in the upcoming film but director Chad Stahelski expressed how thrilled he was to add him to the cast:
“Having long admired Hiroyuki as both actor and action performer, I’m thrilled and honored to welcome him to the John Wick family.”

Here is the official synopsis for the latest film in the franchise:
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.
Directed by Chad Stahelski from a script written by Derek Kolstad, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Anjelica Huston, and Boban Marjanovic.
