Director David F. Sandberg revealed Zachary Levi will wear a new suit in Shazam! Fury of the Gods as filming for the sequel is underway.
When the first set photos from Shazam! hit the internet, many criticized the suit Zahary Levi wore due to the muscle padding. However, the suit was still pretty faithful to the character’s look in the comics. Based on recent comments from the director, it sounds like Levi will be getting an upgraded suit in the sequel.
As Dwayne Johnson teases his Black Adam suit, director David F. Sandberg shared a new behind-the-scenes image of the “Shazamcam” on Instagram. In the comments of the post, the director also let it slip Shazam! Fury of the Gods has been filming for a few days and that the sequel will see Zachary Levi in a new suit. We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly?
