Margot Robbie Harley Quinn Poison Ivy Birds of PreyHarley Quinn star Margot Robbie revealed that she’s eager to see her DC character have an on-screen relationship with Poison Ivy.

One of the most iconic villain duos in the comics has to be Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Sure, Harley Quinn is often seen with Joker, but recent years have seen the whimsical Quinn hanging out with Poison Ivy. Case in point: Quinn and Ivy are together in HBO Max’s animated Harley Quinn series. Their relationship is one of the series’ highlights, so it makes sense that Warner Bros. would want to capitalize on it for DC’s live-action slate. Lucky for Quinn and Ivy fans, Margot Robbie has been pestering the studio to let both the characters have an on-screen relationship.

We last saw Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey and we’ll be seeing her next in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad later this summer. Overall, the future of Harley Quinn on-screen seems promising, so it would definitely be interesting to see her team up with Poison Ivy down the road. And it’s clearly a relationship that Margot Robbie wants to explore. In an interview with Den of Geek, Robbie was asked about the possibility of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy teaming up. Robbie revealed that she’s asked the studio numerous times, perhaps even to the point of annoyance.

“Trust me, I chew their ear off about it all the time. They must be sick of hearing it, but I’m like, ‘Poison Ivy, Poison Ivy. Come on, let’s do it.’ I’m very keen to see a Harley-Poison Ivy relationship on screen. It’d be so fun. So I’ll keep pestering them. Don’t worry.”

Margot Robbie will next be seen in The Suicide Squad. You can check out the synopsis for the James Gunn film below.

Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.

The Suicide Squad is currently scheduled to hit theaters and HBO Max on August 6, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the DC Films project and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
