This High-Street Candle Smells and Burns Just Like a Luxury Candle

I have a confession to make: I’m a bit of a candle snob. With homeware and my wardrobe, I’m all about sticking to budgets and tracking down bargains. I certainly don’t subscribe to the idea that the more expensive something is, the better it will be. Of course, this is sometimes the case, but I’ve been let down by seemingly “premium” purchases in the past.

As for candles? They’re the one buy I allow myself to splurge on. I track this back to years spent working in a boutique surrounded by luxury candles. We’d burn them by our till, and I soon found myself hooked on the scent pay-off—not to mention the burn time, which lapped that of my frugal candles. Soon, I was spending my disposable income on high-end candles, something I’ve continued to do into adulthood. At least, I did until I discovered the high-street candle range which gives the luxury wicks a run for their money.

Last year, I found myself in the queue at Zara Home next to a display of strategically placed candles. I’d just burned through my latest Diptyque and decided a Zara Home candle would tide me over. A few months on and you’ll find a Zara Home candle in just about every room in my house—perhaps even two. I initially fell hard for Zara’s Fleur d’Oranger candle, blended by none other than Jo Malone CBE. Since, I’ve snapped up the transportive scent of Tuscan Cypress as well as fresh White Jasmine from its Our Icons range, and they’ve each held their own.

As for my luxury-candle obsession, it’s still there, but Zara Home has proven to me that you don’t need to spend upwards of £50 to get your aromatic fix. Scroll below to see the best Zara Home candles to buy now.
