Zack Snyder’s Green Lantern Actor Comments On His Deleted ‘Justice League’ Scene

Zack Snyder Green Lantern Justice League John Stewart

Zack Snyder Green Lantern Justice League John StewartWayne T. Carr opened up about playing the John Stewart Green Lantern in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Although Zack Snyder was eventually allowed to reveal his full vision for Justice League, there was one aspect of the film that Warner Bros. wasn’t exactly happy with, and that was the addition of John Stewart A.K.A. Green Lantern at the end of the film. In the final version, Martian Manhunter appears to Bruce Wayne to tell him he’ll help in the war to come, but the director originally shot a scene with the Green Lantern arriving to offer his support alongside Kilowog. And now the star who played John Stewart opened up about his brief time as a Green Lantern.

During an appearance on Lightcast, Wayne T. Carr explained that Zack Snyder worked with him on the Green Lantern scene without getting approval from Warner Brothers, filming it at what he jokingly called Driveway Studios. Carr expressed how disappointed he is that he’s not officially part of the project, but he appreciates all the support from the fans over the role. Take a look below.

“[Zack] said, ‘We’re going to shoot it, we’ll see what the studio says’. This is kind of crazy because we shot it in what I’m going to call ‘Driveway Studios.’ He called me after he showed it to everyone, I think it was the second time because they had watched it in parts. He was like, ‘They’re not letting me do this thing.’ When I saw the full vision, I went through the journey like everybody went through the journey. Towards the end I realized, ‘Ugh. I’m not a part of this. Darn.’ The thing that kind of just warmed my heart was once all of the concept art and stuff started to drop, it’s been nothing but love from the fans, man. Like, I wasn’t even in the movie, and I’m just getting positive feedback from people and support. It’s super crazy. It’s absolutely crazy, but I love it.”

What do you make of Wayne T. Carr’s words? Do you think the original scenes with John Stewart should be released for audiences to see? Would you like to see them added to the home release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League? Sound-off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for the Zack Snyder cut:

“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
