A Kid Icarus: Uprising Sequel Would Be “Difficult”, Says Masahiro Sakurai

So don’t expect one any time soon.

Back in 2012, the release of Kid Icarus: Uprising gave Nintendo’s decades-old franchise a fantastic new chance to shine. The game transformed the series into a third-person shooter and was directed by none other than Super Smash Bros. series director, Masahiro Sakurai.

Today, 22nd March, just so happens to be Uprising’s ninth anniversary, and Sakurai has taken to social media to celebrate the date with a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate screenshot. In the tweet below, he acknowledges the fact that he and his team have received numerous requests for a sequel from fans, but that making such a title would be “difficult”.
