Director Zack Snyder remains hopeful that he might continue his Justice League story with a sequel.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League teases a lot of what the director had in store for his trilogy, which would’ve largely taken place in the Knightmare world under Darkseid’s rule. However, Snyder has shared during his press tour that this is intended to be the last DC film he makes, and executives have described it as a cul-de-sac.
However, there’s still always the chance that the success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League could spearhead a sequel or a series on HBO Max. Snyder told Entertainment Weekly that he doesn’t think it’s out of the question for there to be a Justice League sequel in the future based on what’s happened already:
“I always go, what is more likely? That Warner Bros. would ask me to make a sequel to Justice League? Or that they would resurrect a three-year-old movie, spend millions of dollars to restore it to my original [vision], and then release it? I think that the sequel would have been a more likely scenario than what’s just happened. So, I guess in the face of that I say, ‘Who knows what the future holds?’”

Here is the official synopsis for the Snyder Cut:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
