From Meghan Markle to Jen An, This Is What Celebrities’ Homes Smell Like

When it comes to personal scent, I am something of a fragrance junkie. From celeb-approved perfumes to this year’s trending scents, I love experimenting with new aromas but pride myself in being able to find the best expensive-smelling scents that don’t cost the earth. And when it comes to home fragrance? Well, I’m similarly obsessed.

Honestly, at this point in time, my fireplace has pretty much become a display shelf for scented candles. After all, why light just one when you can light five? So, as someone that’s always on the lookout for candle recommendations to add to my collection, I thought it might be interesting to see which scented candles the A-list fragrance their own abodes with.

From Meghan Markle to Jennifer Aniston, keep scrolling to shop the best scented candles according to my favourite celebrities.

It’s no secret that Meghan is a huge fan of luxurious French brand, Diptyque. In fact, when she used to run her now-defunct lifestyle website, The Tig, Diptyque’s Figuier was one of the candles that was often spotted in snapshots of Markle’s home. A representative for the brand told InStyle that “fresh and floral” candles from the fragrance house were actually used to scent the royal wedding.

“I really like things to smell nice, and I find these so perfect because Cire Trudon candles are very potent,” Chung told The Strategist. “They smell sort of like a wealthy 60-year-old man’s smoking lair. And I love that. I’m drawn to a more masculine scent rather than anything floral. I like things that are woody—it’s from growing up in the country I think—and things that smell like grass or a bonfire. That’s why Byron is my favourite.”

When asked what her house smells like by InStyle, Beyoncé described it as “vanilla, warm and sweet.” Her brand of choice? Diptyque. “Even when I’m away, I have someone burn them. I like having the scent in my pillows.”

“These are my favourite candles,” Lively said of Le Labo’s cult Santal 26 to Marie Claire. “Because you can personalise the labels, so they make good gifts.”

Not only is Poppy Delevingne a fan of wearing Jo Malone fragrance—”I’ve been wearing Red Roses since I was 22,” she told Vogue—but her home smells of it too. “My home is overflowing with Jo Malone London candles and I scented my wedding with Orange Blossom, which still gives me butterflies.”

“Before I lived in my own house, I’d have a bunch of candles for my room in my parents’ house, and they would last forever. But now that I have this whole house, every room must have a scent,” Selena Gomez told Into The Gloss. “And I want them to be lit every night, because it just feels so good—I’ll light them in the piano room where we always have jam sessions or even during the daytime when I’m doing my makeup. My favorite scents are Voluspa Mokara and Voluspa Saijo Persimmon, neither of them are too expensive.”

It’s no surprise that Gwynnie picked a scented candle from her own brand as her favourite when asked by InStyle. This one is designed to bring calm to your home, described as a mix of “cypress smoke, snow and sensual quiet” by the brand.

“My flagship store on Dover Street is all about awakening the senses, and scent was a really important piece of the store experience, Beckham told The Cut. “Over time, Diptyque’s Figuier Vert candle has become our signature fragrance—everyone who walks in always talks about the amazing smell of the store, and that’s just because of the candle. I love the warmth of fig wood so much that I often have one for my office, too.”

It was this smoky, floral candle that made Jourdan Dunn’s list of favourite things for Vogue. In fact, she loves it so much that she described it as her “signature gift.” Lucky friends and family!

When InStyle asked Jennifer Aniston to spill the beans on her home essentials, it was this candle that the Hollywood star said was her favourite. It smells of fresh rose petals, violet, leather and birch tree and is seriously beautiful.

Next up, I just asked the experts what perfumes everyone will be wearing this year.
