Robert Pattinson’s new Caped Crusader gets the white-eyed cowl for The Batman in a new design for the upcoming DC film.
Fans of the DC Extended Universe might be looking forward to seeing Ben Affleck‘s Batman return in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but a new Caped Crusader is waiting in the wings for his debut next year in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Production is currently underway on the film starring Robert Pattinson – and although we’ve already gotten a good look at the new costume for the grim noir vision of the Dark Knight, a new design sees Pattinson don the white-eyed cowl.
The new fan art comes from Mizuriau on Instagram and shows off just how intimidating Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight Detective could like if he had a set of white eyes in the new cowl. The first trailer for the film already showed off the Good Time and The Lighthouse star’s moody performance in the role, while also highlighting his violent vigilante antics. The plot of The Batman is being kept under wraps, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger version of Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as the Dark Knight of Gotham City. The Batman will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the hero. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films with Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
