From her timeless denim choices to polished outfit pairings, Victoria Beckham is always high on our list for style inspiration. Since the launch of her eponymous fashion line back in 2008, her influence on our wardrobes is ever-present. However, as a beauty editor, I was always way more interested in the contents of VB’s makeup bag or the ins and outs of her luxurious skincare routine. After all, this is a woman who has had access to some of the biggest names in the beauty industry since her days as Posh Spice. So when Victoria Beckham Beauty landed in September 2019, I was excited, to say the least.
Initially launching with a carefully edited collection of eye makeup—shadows, liners and lustres—inspired by Beckham’s trademark smoky-eye look, the range has since grown to encompass lip products, a new mascara and skincare. It’s a considered, concise roster of products that are all extremely covetable, but are the products actually any good?
In terms of the products themselves, every single item from Victoria Beckham Beauty is clean, cruelty-free and sustainably made and packaged. Let’s just talk about that packaging for a moment: The products are encased in tortoiseshell tubes and compacts that look chic and feel heavyweight and luxurious to hold. Posh? Most definitely.
Of course, Beckham is no stranger to the world of beauty. She launched a hugely successful capsule makeup collection with Estée Lauder back in 2016, which gave us our first insight into Beckham’s taste for effective yet luxurious makeup products. In fact, Sarah Creal—the former head of global makeup development and marketing at Estée Lauder—is heading up Victoria Beckham Beauty as co-founder and CEO, so it was always a dead cert that these products were going to be seriously good.
“The products may be new, but they’ve been a lifetime in the making,” explains Beckham. “I have always been beauty obsessed, and I want to create beauty solutions that address my customers from head to toe, inside and out. It is all about making my community feel like the very best versions of themselves.” They look and sound good, but do the Victoria Beckham Beauty products actually live up to the hype? I decided to try everything from the line to see if they’re actually worth the money. Below, I’m giving you my honest review of the products and my recommendations on which items you should shop first.

I’ll be honest, I was a little shocked at how small this eye shadow palette was considering the £50 price tag. However, there is no denying that this is seriously good eye shadow. I merely had to tap my brush onto the surface to deliver a full wash of colour to my eyelids. Trust me—these eye shadows are pigmented, and once they’re on, they don’t budge. Even on my oily eyelids, these eye shadows are still vibrant and pretty much crease-free by the end of the day. Plus, they apply just as well using your fingertips if you can’t be fussed with brushes. I love that, unlike the usual trending eye shadow palettes that contain upwards of 30 shades, the Smoky Eye Brick contains just four beautiful eye shadow options that work well together or worn alone. It’s a great place to start if you don’t often wear eye shadow, like me, but want to experiment a little more. Equally though, if you love wearing eye shadow, then you’ll definitely adore these blendable, creamy hues. Tweed is my current go-to. The main shade—Caramel—is a wearable terracotta that contains just enough orange to feel like an adventurous choice.

I very rarely wear lip liner. The rare occasion that I might bother to apply it is if I’m going to an all-day event like a wedding and want something that’s going to extend the wear of my lipstick. Day-to-day though, it’s not for me. Beckham, on the other hand, always wears lip liner, so it’s of no surprise that she wanted to create her own. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely one of the creamiest and most comfortable lip liners that I’ve ever tried. Describing them as “naked” shades, Beckham has developed six hues to cater for a spectrum of light to deep skin tones so that everyone can wear their perfect nude lip. I’ve tried shade 01, which is a pale peach—slightly lighter than my natural lip tone. I actually really liked how this applied, and the fact that it was quite pale in tone meant that my other lip products went on nicely over the top without their colour being affected. I also hate the overdrawn lip look, so I appreciated how this looked soft and natural. I can’t say that it’s converted me to the joys of wearing lip liner every single day, but I definitely won’t wait for a wedding to wear this again.

I didn’t expect one of my favourite Victoria Beckham Beauty products to be a long-wear lip tint, yet here we are. First up, I’m a bit obsessed with the berry hue of this product. It’s so ’90s, and I love it. When I first heard that Beckham was launching a lip tint, I was a little sceptical. Traditionally, lip tints can be drying and patchy when applied—not exactly chic. This one, however, has a gel-like texture when first applied that dries down into a sheer, natural matte colour. It’s comfortable to wear, too, which makes sense considering the formula contains moisturising hyaluronic acid and nourishing squalane. This is a flattering, fuss-free addition to my makeup bag that I’d genuinely recommend to everyone.
I’ve already waxed lyrical about the newest Victoria Beckham Beauty launch, so I’ll keep it short and sweet: This is a mascara for people who don’t love wearing mascara. If you love dramatic, false lash–effect mascaras, then this one isn’t for you. But if you’re like me and either don’t wear mascara often or prefer a more natural lash look, then this is brilliant. My lashes always look so lifted, separated and fluttery when wearing this. Bonus points also go to the clean formula that sticks around all day without smudging but can be removed using just warm water. Oh, and it contains lots of lash-friendly ingredients to actually improve the condition of your eyelashes over time.

This was the product that I was most excited to try from Victoria Beckham Beauty, a pot of shimmery eye shadow laced with actual crystals for a boost to your aura. The practical Taurean in me kind of wants to roll my eyes, but I can’t lie. I’m into this astrological approach to beauty. Simply put, these eye shadows are beautiful, and they beg to be worn on an evening out with friends. They have a pearly, wet-looking texture on the eyes, with a sheeny finish that’s just gorgeous. My favourite has to be Mink, which is a kind of taupe-brown with a metallic fleck. Oh, and Tiger’s Eye for courage, strength and power. Naturally. To apply, I just dab my finger into the pot and blend it straight over the eyelids. It’s a little haphazard and provides more of a lived-in finish, but I found brush application a little tricky with these formulations.

It was love at first slick for me and this lipstick. I absolutely adore lipsticks and have tried hundreds, but I’m confident that, even if you aren’t a fan of wearing lip colour, you’d enjoy wearing this one. It’s creamy, nourishing, pigmented and an all-around luxurious experience to wear. My favourite of the range has to be Pop—a cherry red that’s possibly the least VB of all the shades. But it’s instantly cheering, and the nourishing texture and glowy finish feel like a modern way to wear a red lip. Containing a whole host of lip-friendly ingredients, including natural oils and protective waxes, these lipsticks feel more like balm once applied. But don’t let the shiny finish fool you. Once that’s worn down throughout the day, you’re left with a gorgeous stain effect on the lips that looks just as beautiful. Victoria, I’m so impressed.

I’ll hand it to VB—this is a very nice eyeliner. It’s creamy, it packs a punch when it comes to pigment, it glides over eyelids without pulling at the skin, and you can smudge it out if you like a smoky finish. In fact, there’s literally nothing to dislike about the Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner. The shade Cocoa—a rich, deep brown—looks lovely. Do I think that I’ve tried other eyeliners that are very similar in terms of formulation for a lower price point? Yes. However, the one thing that I will definitely hand to Beckham is that the shades of this liner are unique. Whilst I do think that there are quite a lot of decent, more affordable eyeliners on the market, her edited collection of colours are innovative and hard to find elsewhere—particularly Bordeaux, which is a beautiful, wine-inspired hue.
