Keanu Reeves Kraven Sony Spider-ManKeanu Reeves has reportedly passed on playing Kraven the Hunter in a solo Spider-Man spinoff movie from Sony.

Sony is continuing to flesh out its list of Spider-Man villains on the big-screen following Venom and next year’s Morbius, with the studio looking to produce a solo movie for Kraven the Hunter. But after an earlier report revealed Keanu Reeves had been approached by Sony to play Sergei Kravinoff on the big screen, he apparently passed on the role months ago. It’s easy to see why Keanu Reeves was approached since he visually fits a the typical look associated with Kraven – but there are definitely better Marvel roles for the John Wick star.

Skyler Shuler of The DisInsider revealed that Keanu Reeves declined Sony’s offer to play Kraven the Hunter in a solo movie which JC Candor was in talks to helm. Marvel fans have suggested Reeves for roles like Ghost Rider and Wolverine in the past, and Kevin Feige even revealed that Marvel Studios frequently approaches the star regarding a number of roles. But it seems like the hunt continues for the live-action Kraven.

Who do you think should play Kraven the Hunter in Sony’s movie? Would you like to see the villain fight Tom Holland’s Spider-Man? Which Marvel character do you think Keanu Reeves should play? Sound-off in the comments below!

Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man is scheduled to be released in theaters in December later this year. In the meantime, fans can re-watch the star’s most recent appearance as the web-slinger in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever.
