Jared Leto’s Morbius has been pushed back by Sony to 2022 to avoid clashing with Daniel Craig’s No Time To Die.
Jared Leto’s bloodsucking anti-hero Morbius has been delayed yet again. As the ongoing pandemic continues to cause disruption, MGM decided to move Daniel Craig’s No Time To Die back to October later this year. However, this has caused a huge reshuffle for other movies like Jared Leto’s Morbius and Tom Holland’s Uncharted, and the Sony Spider-Man spin-off movie will now debut in 2022.
It’s yet another delay for Morbius, as it was only recently that Sony announced an October 2021 release date for the film. But following the James Bond news, the studio has since pushed the edgy superhero thriller starring Jared Leto back to January 21, 2022 – a whole year away. For fans of the Spider-Man franchise it’s disappointing to see, since the film was originally set to arrive in March this year.
What do you make of the recent Sony delays? Do you think films like Morbius and Uncharted should be premium VOD rentals instead at this point? Sound-off in the comments below!
Here is the official synopsis for Jared Leto’s Morbius:
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster while Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.
Morbius is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on October 8, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Jared Leto’s Morbius and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
