A new image sees Henry Cavill step into a classic Superman costume for a sequel to Zack Syder’s Man of Steel.
Bringing superhero outfits to life is no easy feat, with costume designers balancing a fine line between honoring the comics while staying true to the theme of the film (or TV show) at hand. When Henry Cavill donned his version of the Superman costume for Man of Steel, the film brought a modern tone to the suit while exploring the Kryptonian culture a little further. And although Cavill’s future as Superman feels a little up in the air for the moment, a new image pictures the star wearing a classic look if he returns for a follow up to Man of Steel.
The art from jph_photoshop gives Cavill’s costume a brighter blue suit complete with the red trunks and yellow belt from the comics. While the iconic ‘S’ on his chest matches the design of other versions of the hero fans have seen in film and TV, like Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh and Tyler Hoechlin. The hero himself will next be seen in The CW’s Superman & Lois, which follows Clark Kent and Lois Lane trying to manage their respective, complicated lives as well as running a family.
