Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson hinted that the Taika Waititi film will feature more heroes from the MCU.
The next chapter in the Thor franchise doesn’t arrive until 2022, but it’s already shaping up to be one of Marvel’s biggest event movies in the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Natalie Portman returning as Jane Foster to become a new Thor as well as Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher – it’s unsurprising that the scale of Thor: Love and Thunder keeps getting bigger. And according to Valkyrie star Tessa Thompson, more MCU characters will also show up in the sequel.
When speaking to The Playlist ahead of her appearance in Sylvie’s Love, Tessa Thompson revealed that when audiences meet Valkyrie again – she’s still the King of New Asgard after Thor passed the mantle to her in Avengers: Endgame. She noted that the returning characters from other pockets of the MCU, as well as characters that have been seen before. Since we already know Chris Pratt will reprise his role as Star-Lord in the film, it’ll be interesting to see who else shows up. Take a look at Tessa Thompson discussing Love and Thunder below.
“Yeah. I can tease that she’s definitely King of New Asgard when we find her. And as was the case in the last four, I would say that she’s a part of an adventure that involved Thor, in the sense that it’s called Thor: Love and Thunder. And I’d say there’s some cool stuff going on. We have some new characters; we have some folks potentially from other pockets of the MCU. And then we have some folks, maybe, that we’ve seen before.”
