Antony Starr leaves The Boys behind as he becomes the next actor to play Wolverine after Hugh Jackman in a new image.
Although fans were disappointed that Kevin Feige didn’t tease the future of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the recent Disney Investor presentation, there’s a number of candidates who could make a good replacement for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The Boys actor Antony Starr is often suggested for the role by fans after seeing the intensity he brings to his role as Homelander in the Amazon series.
The star(r) even revealed that he’d love to play Wolverine while talking about other roles he’d like to play. However, the Boys actor pointed out that it would be difficult to fill the shoes left by Hugh Jackman. A new design from ApexForm on Instagram pictures Antony Starr in Jackman’s typical dressed down costume as Wolverine, with his white vest and a lit cigar. When given the chance, Starr can give an incredibly vicious performance – his role in the Banshee series is the perfect example of that. Take a look at Antony Starr taking over from Hugh Jackman as Wolverine below.
Would you like to see Antony Starr as Wolverine? Do you prefer seeing him as Homelander in The Boys? Who else could replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine? Sound-off in the comments below!
Here is the official synopsis for the second season of The Boys:
The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.
The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Aya Cash, and Colby Minifie.
