Even the Federal Trade Commission along with a coalition of 47 nations attorneys general now filed a set of antitrust lawsuits against Facebook, alleging that the company abused its authority on the market to neutralize rivals by acquisitions and protect against anyone else by embracing a privacy-friendly alternate for customers.
“With its huge troves of information and cash, Facebook has quashed or dented exactly what the firm perceived as potential risks,” New York Attorney General Letitia James, who directed the states’ attempt, stated. “In an attempt to keep its market dominance, Facebook has used a way to jumpstart competing solutions”
After James originally declared the probe at September 2019, her workplace had been united with the attorneys general of eight additional nations; by October of this past year, yet another 38 had signed, bringing the total to 47 countries and territories participating in the analysis.
