While fans are eager to finally see Zack Snyder’s original vision for Justice League on HBO Max in 2021, a new comment from famed comic writer Scott Snyder seems to suggest that the film will be explored even further in a series from DC Comics. The writer was speaking about his latest work, American Vampire 1976 when he revealed that the company had previously approached him to “help with the comic adaptation and expansion of the  mythology that Zack Snyder is doing on [HBO Max].”

Zack Snyder has always maintained that his story originally went a lot further, revolving around Darkseid arriving on Earth once again. It’s hard to deny that it’s an interesting idea that would be great to see come to life in one way or another. Unfortunately, if a DC Comics series is still in the works, Scott Snyder won’t be the one to helm it. He explained during the panel why he wasn’t able to take it on, noting that “I had a lot of jobs ahead of me, and I can’t deal with people confusing us anymore.”

Would you like to see the Zack Snyder film continue in a DC Comics series? Or do you think the director deserves a shot at making a sequel? Sound-off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
